Third Grade
ELA: We have leaned about and created Literature Webs from our 1st Reading TD Unit. We are now applying what we know to stories and poems (like "The Memory String" and "I wandered lonely like a cloud") and will continue diving deep into literature with Jill Patton Walsh's "The Green Book" Math: We are diving into the crazy world of the land of treble and exploring different number systems along with exploring our own! We will continue to look at ancient cultures, previous civilizations and how their number systems work, comparing them to each other. |
Fourth Grade
ELA: Time period, author's background, and important events all shape the meaning behind literacy pieces. We are exploring how these things effect or understanding of literary works. We will dive into historical events and different cultures, exploring how they change our understanding of famous writings and poems. Math: We are working with the unit "At the Mall With Algebra". Exploring algebra, how to solve for unknowns, and even creating our own equations. We will then take all of our algebra knowledge to create unique shops for everyone to visit where the prices are algebraic equations. |
5th GradeELA: We are working on our novel study of the "One and Only Ivan". After answering thought provoking questions and talking about two sided themes, we studied a new literature wheel adding a new dimension to our previously used literature web!
Math: We are working on our M3 Unit : Wacky World Records". We are studying wacky world records and created/analyzed tables, graphs, and data. For our final project, we will be creating our own wacky records, collecting data, and creating a graph to reflect our data gathered! |
